Flea Treatments
Flea treatments are best carried out after a thorough internal vacuum, coupled with the pet being washed and treated with veterinary approved products.
The interior floor surfaces are then sprayed, as are pet bedding areas and in some cases the yards.
A large range of chemicals are approved for use on fleas, and we also mix an insect growth regulator such as ‘Sumilarv’ which affects the flea nymph thus sterilizing it, so that if it makes adulthood it cannot successfully breed.
Fleas can lay dormant for quite some time in:
- soil areas
- carpets, and
- crevices to hard flooring
They will then hatch out when the presence of heat and/or vibration triggers their internal clock.
